Monitoring & Assessment

Most of our experience lies in the biophysical assessment of vegetation and related parameters - from floristic, phytosociological and habitat mapping to impact assessments and status reports on protected areas such as nature reserves or habitat types covered by the European Habitats Directive (FFH Richtlinie). We are mapping vegetation at different scales and for various purposes (for details see: Mapping & Ground Truthing) and document environmental change over time (see also: Photo Documentation).

We offer help in plant identification, compile species lists and we can create and layout photo-based botanical field guides. We count individuals, measure traits, harvest biomass and, if wished, we also analyze the data and bring it into a format suitable for your editorial needs.

An adapted monitoring is the key for understanding long term trends attributed land-use or climate change. We are experienced in choosing and establishing monitoring sites, the appropriate selection of locations and replications as well as permanent marking of monitoring objects. Our contacts to national and international monitoring programs are particularly well established. On this basis, we are able to accompany you in developing the right monitoring design, organizing field work and conducting long-term monitoring.
